Studio Gilders

Studio Gilders, a small shop in Baltimore, MD, specializes in the restoration of gilded art, a rare craft. The redesign focused on creating a sleek, engaging website where users could easily explore the client’s work, services, and contact information. Using elegant fonts, smooth animations, and captivating visuals, I ensured an accessible and enhanced user experience. At the client's request and inspired by another designer's portfolio, I developed a dark, theatrical style with gold highlights, while maintaining a clean and user-friendly design.
Logo (Concept)
The Studio Gilding logo concept shows a woman burnishing a circular emblem, representing precision in gilding. The emblem, highlighted by a soft yellow gradient, reflects the golden finish, while the woman’s silhouette in muted tones allows focus on the emblem. Simple serif or calligraphy-style typography complements the design, combining traditional craftsmanship with a modern touch.
Colors
The site’s initial deep #060B1F background not only adds sophistication and depth but also emphasizes the other colors and content on the page that were later designed. This dark backdrop allows the vibrant elements and text to stand out more clearly, enhancing overall readability and creating a visually striking contrast. Paired with the warm #D47164 added to the footer, the design maintains a balanced, stylish look, giving focus to the vintage photo and contact information
Typography
Playfair Display's elegant serifs and bold contrasts evoke a refined, theatrical feel, while Montserrat’s clean lines add modern clarity. Together, they balance drama with functionality.

“ To revolutionize event management by developing an AI-powered solution that streamlines workflows and addresses user pain points related to inefficiency and complexity. Our tool will adapt to the evolving needs of modern teams, ensuring a more efficient and flexible event planning process ”

In today's business world, it's often about organization. As such, we tend to gravitate toward applications and systems to aid the process. Organizers and planners are frequently tasked with coordinating logistical, financial, and stakeholder-related elements to execute successful events, taking responsibility for managing these complex components.
In many cases, a fast-paced environment demands that event planners navigate tight deadlines, budget limitations, vendor selection, and last-minute changes while ensuring seamless collaboration between all involved parties.
In-depth research involved analyzing existing event management solutions and gathering user feedback to identify features users desired. The challenge was balancing these needs while identifying the features planners found most useful. Further research, storyboards, and personas were needed to address these issues. By combining quantitative and qualitative data with secondary research and using personas, we prioritized essential features to improve user experience.
Personas were devised from our empathy maps as an additional reference to provide us with a clear understanding of the target users throughout the project.
One of the personas, Emma, is a skilled event planner, recognized for her creativity and keen attention to detail. She specializes in mid-range to luxury weddings and draws inspiration from cultural trends and personal stories to create memorable experiences for her clients.
Initially, the focus was on developing a sprint-like framework within the application. However, through interviews and surveys, it became evident that enhancing the existing industry designs was crucial. We needed to resolve specific user pain points by offering improved functionality, simplicity, and overall performance. Furthermore, the potential of incorporating AI to enhance the process emerged as a highly desirable addition.
The strategy will be implemented by focusing on 3 primary goals:
Refine Industry Designs: Improve upon current designs in the industry by addressing specific user pain points with better functionality, simplicity, and overall performance.
Enhance User Experience: Prioritize creating a more user-friendly interface that not only simplifies the process but also maintains a balance of elegance with powerful and effective tools.
Incorporate AI for Optimization: Explore options for integrating AI into the application to enhance the user experience and streamline workflows, making the process more efficient.

Event planning is a multifaceted field that involves tight coordination, emotional investment, and constant adaptation. Research became the foundation of my process, helping me uncover real user needs, identify pain points, and validate assumptions with evidence rather than guesswork. Listening to planners’ firsthand experiences allowed me to move beyond surface-level observations and truly empathize with their day-to-day realities.
Key Takeaway
Effective communication is critical when planning any event, but incorporating a traditional chat system felt both redundant and potentially distracting. Typical messaging interfaces can quickly become cluttered, pulling users away from the core planning interface.
To solve this, Chronical introduces a focused, task-based comment system. Instead of a free-flowing chat, users can comment directly on specific tasks—keeping conversations anchored to relevant action items. Each comment allows only one direct reply, intentionally limiting the back-and-forth chatter that can derail focus. The structure encourages clarity, keeps discussions brief, and ensures that all communication stays tied to actionable context.
Chronical was created to streamline event planning app designed to eliminate the chaos of traditional tools. It simplifies workflows, enhances team collaboration, and tackles common pain points like time management, and real-time updates—so planners can focus on creating unforgettable experiences.

About Me
Creativity and self-expression has always been part of my life, starting at an early age through art like drawings. I would recreate styles I admired, and follow tutorials to perfect my technique. I often find myself erasing and redrawing, always striving for precision. I ask my family and friends for feedback on my designs and sometimes even sleep on them before finalizing. These traits have followed me through my journey as well as others like curiosity and a need for exploration.
Discovering UX excited me as it connected my past experiences with my love for creativity and art. I once dreamed of being a graphic designer, I pursued business, developing strong negotiation, communication skills and a mind set catered to consumer needs. These, along with my creative passion, now empower me to create impactful user experiences that blend design with strategy.
